162nd Wing Commander promoted to brigadier general
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Out with the old, in with the new. In a tradition for Air Force command pilots at the 162nd Wing, an old nameplate is removed from an F-16 Fighting Falcon, revealing a new plate with a new rank for newly-promoted Brig. Gen. Howard P. Purcell, 162nd Wing Commander. More than 1,000 Airmen and distinguished guests converged Nov. 7 at the 162nd Wing to witness the promotion ceremony, held at the Tucson International Airport.
