162nd Wing Commander promoted to brigadier general
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Junior enlisted Airmen surround 162nd Wing Commander Brig. Gen. Howard P. Purcell after they pinned on his silver star at a promotional ceremony Nov. 7 at the 162nd Wing at the Tucson International Airport. “While we seem to be focused on my shoulders today, trust me, I know it’s your shoulders that carry our wing. You guarantee our wing’s priorities of success for mission and Airmen,” said Purcell, who is the 12th commander of the wing since its founding in 1956. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Tech. Sgt.
