Norweigen NVG Goggles
Pilots don’t choose the time of day they are put in harm’s way. Thus, Maj. Erik Brettingen, a Norwegian exchange officer at the 162nd Wing, familiarizes himself with Night Vision Goggles (NVG). Brettingen, who also serves as a flight commander for Norwegian student-pilots at the F-16 Schoolhouse, said that although NVGs do “not turn night into day,” the pilot is able to detect threats and targets and stay in formation in an operational environment during the night.
