American Veterans award scholarships to wing family members

A handful of college bound children of 162nd Fighter Wing members received scholarships from Tucson's American Veterans Post 770 Ladies Auxiliary, May 12.

The following students received $500 scholarships during an awards dinner at the AMVETS Post:

-Brandon Barnett, son of 1st Lt. Jim Barnett
-Brandon and Justin Garms, sons of Tech. Sgt. Rick Garms
-Kaylee McClelland, daughter of Maj. Patrick McClelland
-Nathan Federico, son of Master Sgt. Renee Federico
-Kristina Farrell, daughter of Tech. Sgt. Johnny Farrell
-Jennifer Trueblood, daughter of Chief Master Sgt. Andy Trueblood

Angela Bautista, daughter of Senior Airman Antonio Bautista, received a $100 recognition award from the Post.

"The Ladies Auxiliary has been especially supportive of our unit over the years," said Barb Gavre, wing Airmen and Family Readiness Program manager. "We can't thank them enough for investing in the futures of these deserving students."
