TUCSON, Ariz. -- The 162nd Force Support Squadron at Tucson International Airport is changing the way it issues identification cards for military members, dependents, retirees and contractors.

For many years, ID cards were issued on a walk in, sign in basis. Over time, usage requirements for military ID cards evolved. With the vast amount of information that is now loaded on the cards, the process takes much longer than it used to. This highlights the need for an appointment-based system for customers to obtain ID cards which will substantially reduce their wait times.

Effective May 1, FSS will begin issuing ID cards for customers with appointments Monday through Friday. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments will take priority.

Customers who only need a PIN reset may continue to walk in and the FSS will fit them in between appointments to complete the reset. The squadron will continue to serve Drill Status Guardsmen on Unit Training Assemblies on a walk-in basis.
