Inspector General Mission

The 162nd Wing Office of the Inspector General is committed to providing service in support of the Commander, 162nd Wing, in two main mission sets: complaint resolution, and inspection support.

Complaints Resolution

The primary charge of the IGQ is to sustain a credible Air Force IG system by ensuring a responsive Complaints Resolution Program (CRP) and active Fraud, Waste and Abuse Program (FWA).

Who Do We Assist/Who May File a Complaint?

Airmen of all ranks, civilian employees, retirees, family members and other civilians.

Issues Within the IG's Purview:

Violations of law, regulation, instruction, policy procedures or rules; fraud, waste and abuse of authority; restriction; reprisal.

Complaints Not Appropriate for the IG System:

The IG CRP should not be used for matters normally addressed through other established grievance or appeals channels, unless there is evidence those channels mishandled the matter or process.

Attribution of Complaints:

IG complaints and reports of fraud, waste and abuse may be filed anonymously.

Inspections

What Does IGI Do?

The wing-level IGI is primarily responsible for developing, curating and directing the Wing Commander's Inspection Program.

The IGI serves as the Wing POC for the Air Force Inspection Program, and does continuous evaluation on units within the Wing to ensure that most of the work and preparation is completed before a large inspection.

The IGI also serves as the manager for the Management Internal Control Toolset (MICT), Inspector General Evaluation Management System (IGEMS), and as a gatekeeper for SharePoint.

Who Does IGI Support?

The IGI ultimately supports the Wing Commander, but also supports group, squadron and flight commanders as they prepare for inspections and validate compliance.
